TVCMALL's Love and Charity Initiative in 2024 Chinese New Year: Warming Hearts in the Cold Winter

The Spring Festival of 2024 was an unforgettable one for us at TVCMALL, marked by a rare and heavy snowfall in Hubei, China. The snow blanketed the region in a serene white, offering a unique New Year experience and posing challenges to those traveling home. Despite the obstacles, our team, like many families, braved the long journeys to reunite with loved ones and celebrate the festive season.This spring festival, the TVCMALL team set out on a special mission: to bring our 'Help Them Thrive Program (HTTP)' to our hometown, a key part of our commitment to corporate social responsibility. We aimed to embody our core value of 'respecting nature and cherishing humanity' while actively giving back to the community as responsible corporate citizens. Our vision is clear: to build a more generous and thriving world.

 

TVCMALL decided to host this event at a welfare home in Hubei, China, the hometown of our CEOs, Leo and Rita. The welfare home housed nearly a hundred elderly residents and was willing to organize some charitable activities. We were honored to receive support for this event from local town government officials. In preparation, we coordinated with relevant parties and procured essential living materials for older people, such as cotton clothes and various New Year goods. Despite the challenges posed by heavy snow, we completed the material procurement on schedule.

 

 

On the day before New Year's Eve, we set off early for the welfare home after lunch. After a 2-hour drive, we finally arrived. The staff at the welfare home warmly helped us unload the materials from the car and place them in the designated area. Before the event started, the head of the welfare home had already arranged for all the elderly residents who could participate in the event to sit in the large conference room. When we first saw so many older people sitting together in the conference room, waiting, we were deeply moved. As we looked into the eyes of the elderly residents, we sensed a quiet longing beneath their calm expressions. The festive joy of the Spring Festival seemed distant, replaced by the reality of their disabilities and illnesses. Some used wheelchairs, while others could not attend due to health constraints. Yet, amidst these challenges, there was a spark of anticipation—a hope that this event would bring a touch of novelty and warmth to their routine lives.

 

 

In the subsequent moments, Director Luo of the welfare home warmly introduced the event and expressed gratitude towards us. As the event's donors, we shared our commitment to social responsibility and our deep respect for the elderly, offering our sincere blessings and gratitude. Following this, Secretary Cui, representing the town government, acknowledged the event's significance and reiterated the government's dedication to the well-being of older people, emphasizing the importance of care, respect, and protection. The heartfelt speeches were greeted with enthusiastic applause from the elderly attendees and staff alike.

 

We then distributed red envelopes and gifts to all the elderly residents and staff of the welfare home, engaging with them to understand their situations, express gratitude for their past contributions, and convey our greetings and concerns. We wished them happiness, good fortune, and a long life. Under the guidance of the home's leaders, we captured a group photo with all the participants, including the leaders, staff, and elderly residents. Witnessing the long-lost smiles on the faces of older people, all our previous challenges were forgotten, replaced by the joy and happiness of making a difference. We spread this joy and warmth to more people, filling the cold winter with the warmth of humanity.
